User Roles & Permissions
Understand Admin, Manager, and Member roles, invite team members, and manage multiple organizations.
User Roles
Teammates.ai uses three roles to control what each team member can do. The organization creator is automatically assigned the Owner/Admin role.
| Role | Access Level | What They Can Do |
|---|---|---|
| Owner / Admin | Full access | Manage billing, invite/remove users, configure all AI teammates, access all analytics, manage integrations, change organization settings |
| Manager | Manage teammates & analytics | Configure and deploy AI teammates, view all analytics and reports, manage conversations and escalations, cannot access billing or invite users |
| Member | Use teammates, limited settings | Interact with AI teammates, view assigned conversations, access their own analytics, cannot change configurations or organization settings |
Inviting Team Members
Admins can invite new members from the Settings > Team page. Invited users receive an email with a link to join your organization.
- 1
Go to Settings > Team
Open the Team management section from your dashboard.
- 2
Click "Invite Member"
Enter the team member's work email address.
- 3
Assign a role
Choose Admin, Manager, or Member based on the level of access this person needs.
- 4
Send invitation
The invited user receives an email with a link to join. Pending invitations appear in the Team list until accepted.
Note
Only Admins can invite new team members. Invited users must use a work email address matching your organization domain.
Managing Multiple Organizations
A single Teammates.ai account can belong to multiple organizations. This is useful for agencies, consultants, or teams managing separate brands. Each organization has its own billing, AI teammates, integrations, and data. Switch between organizations using the organization selector in the top-left corner of the dashboard. Your role may differ across organizations: you might be an Admin in one and a Member in another.
